FAQs

Does my Extended Health Plan cover Physiotherapy?

Most extended health plans offer coverage for physiotherapy. Please check with your employer, as plans vary. Please note that in all cases, payment is required at the time of your visit. You may apply for reimbursement to your extended health plan.

I will be attending for physiotherapy after a motor vehicle accident. Will ICBC cover the cost?

ICBC requires that you have a physician’s referral for physiotherapy. The number of visits approved by ICBC varies according to several factors. Please check with your adjuster. If you have engaged a lawyer to represent you to ICBC, please consult your lawyer. City Square Physiotherapy also charges a user fee payable at the time of treatment. In many instances, this fee is refunded by ICBC.

I have had an injury at work. Am I eligible for physiotherapy treatment?

The Workers Compensation Board of BC (WorkSafe BC) specifies a strict procedure for reporting of injuries sustained at work, and for attending a physician. You are required by WCB to have a written physician’s referral for physiotherapy. WCB claims often take some time to be accepted. You may attend for physiotherapy prior to your claim being accepted. During this time you will be billed as a private patient. City Square Physiotherapy will reimburse costs for treatment once your claim is approved.

Communication with your Physician:

We routinely communicate with referring physicians to ensure that your physiotherapy care is in keeping with the physician’s treatment plan. This communication enhances the accuracy and efficacy of physiotherapy intervention.

Feel free to come to our physiotherapy clinic in your normal attire. Your therapist may ask you to change for the treatment session into a pair of shorts or gown, or both depending on the site of your pain or injury.
