Mike Wong received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Exercise Science) from the University of British Columbia. He is certified to practice acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and utilizes eastern medicine techniques as part of his treatments. Mike also has advanced dry needling training and is certified in Integrative Systemic Dry Needling for Pain Management from the American Dry Needling Institute. He has studied under Dr. Yun-Tao Ma, internationally recognized and highly respected authority in Pain Management, Sports and Trauma Rehabilitation.
Furthermore, he has pursued advanced manual therapy training and incorporates evidence based manual therapy techniques and the use of Mulligan Concept in his practice, and has obtained his Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from Perth, Australia.
Mike is fluent in Cantonese and his treatment philosophy integrates eastern and western therapies to ensure a complete, holistic approach to his patient care. He has experience working with a variety of patient population and conditions from work rehabilitation programs to elite level athletes, and has an interest in treating knee, ankle, and shoulder issues.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing basketball, cycling and snowboarding, and trying to cook the occasional gourmet meal.
